Aquatic ecotoxicology
We conduct both short-term and long-term studies using a range of aquatic organisms representing all trophic levels of the aquatic environment.
Studies are performed under static, semi-static, or flow-through conditions, depending on the stability and properties of the respective test item. All studies include appropriate chemical analysis of the test item in the test media, using validated analytical methods to ensure accurate determination of exposure concentrations.
The Aquatic Ecotoxicology department at Ecotox Alliance has significantly expanded its portfolio of studies and services to support comprehensive environmental risk assessment of chemicals. Our goal is to strengthen capabilities for higher-tier test systems while maintaining high-throughput capacity for standard studies, such as acute toxicity tests. The department is fully equipped with both biological and analytical resources, enabling the competent and timely execution of all client projects.
Our extensive flow-through systems for fish, amphibians, and Daphnia are operated using advanced technical equipment and managed by highly skilled scientists and technical staff. Higher-tier study designs for aquatic plants and species sensitivity distributions (SSD) incorporate a range of non-standard plant and invertebrate species, providing flexible solutions for diverse environmental risk assessment needs.
In addition, Ecotox Alliance offers the unique capability to combine tailored modeling approaches with customized experimental designs, delivering a new generation of refined assessment options and innovative solutions for regulatory and research applications.
